Budget Cuts

Updated: Tue 5:09 PM, May 13, 2003

Budget director Mike Anderson projects plummeting sales tax
figures will leave general fund revenues 13-point-three (m) million
dollars below projections this year and 15-point-five (m) million
dollar shot of estimated expenses next year.

All departments, including police and fire, have been asked to
submit plans within three weeks for how they can cut 5 percent of
their budgets now and 15 percent by next year.
