Country superstar Tim McGraw is taking a break from his current tour, to say "thanks" to America's troops. That means a free concert for Colorado Springs-area military personnel and their families.
According to McGraw's web site, the show is set for 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21st at Pershing Field on the Fort Carson grounds. Playing off his tour, entitled "One Band Show," McGraw is calling this performance his "One Base Show."
Tickets will be extended to all area military personnel and their families through ITT & ITR offices at the Fort Carson Army Base, U.S. Air Force Academy, Peterson Air Force Base, Schriever Air Force Base and Buckley Air Force Base. Distribution begins Friday, May 9 at 10a.m.
For more information call 719-526-5366.
On his web site, McGraw says, "I just wanted to show my appreciation to those who protect us and to their families while I'm on the road touring. Our tour began shortly before the war, so it just seemed fitting that we add this show to give a little something back to those who sacrificed so much. It's our small way of saying thank you."
