After a mild Saturday, temperatures to finish the weekend will be MUCH colder! A system to our west pushes into SE Colorado overnight. Snow showers will be possible by early Sunday morning across the I-25 corridor with a change to rain and snow showers through the afternoon. Accumulation should be minimal as most moisture looks to be light and temperatures will warm into the upper 30s and 40s through the afternoon. The Transportation Security Administration is making some staffing changes to it's screener workforce across the country, as a result of budet issues at the Homeland Security Department.
Sixty one TSA workers the the Colorado Springs Airport will either lose their jobs or be transferred to another airport.
Airport officials just found out about the cuts today, and aren't sure how quickly workers will be notified, but a total of 6 thousand workers nationwide will lose their jobs by the end of September.
Right now, a total of 153 TSA workers are employed at the Springs airport. The cuts will drop that number to 92.
Airport officials say they're concerned about the cuts, but aren't sure yet how much of an impact it will have on travellers.
