A Colorado Springs family is grateful no ones been hurt following a dangerous night at home. It happened at an apartment complex on Chestnut near I-25 and Fillmore.

David Smith, Mykia Garrison and their baby were at home when a fight erupted around three in the morning in the apartment above them. Someone started shooting through the floor, and into the family's apartment where they were sound asleep and fortunately away from the gunshots.

"Very lucky, because we could have been dead. I mean, if it was angled just a different way, we could have been killed," Smith said.

The family's fish tank was hit, but everyone's okay.

Police say they've had conflicting reports from witnesses to the fight upstairs, and are still looking into this case.
