Business is slow even at Colorado casinos, which are usually relatively immune to the economy.

Managers say high gas prices, the struggling economy and a state smoking ban in casinos are taking a toll on business.

State officials say gambling revenue declined 10.4 percent through the first eight months of this year from the same period last year.

Casino manager Leslie Sault says gambling is a good industry to be in regardless of the economy, but there's a difference now. Some customers talk about being able to pay their bills after hitting jackpots.

Other customers say it's more quiet in the casinos -- and easier to find a slot machine.
