Storm systems sweeping into Colorado over the weekend are expected to bring high winds, cold temperatures, rain and snow.

The National Weather Service has issued winter storm and high-wind advisories for much of western and central Colorado. Up to 9 inches of snow could fall high in the southwestern and northern mountains. A storm system moving in from Nevada is expected to bring rain and snow to the northern and central Rockies.

And the Denver area could see its first freeze of the season.
