A teenager is dead and a 1-year-old girl is hospitalized after a one-vehicle rollover north of Trinidad in southern Colorado.

The Colorado State Patrol says a 17-year-old Aguilar girl was driving a Dodge SUV southbound on Interstate 25 when she drifted off the road and onto the center median about 7:30 a.m. Friday.

The vehicle flipped over and ejected the driver, who was not wearing a seat belt. Both the SUV and the teenager landed on northbound I-25.

The Las Animas County coroner says the driver suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The baby was airlifted to a Colorado Springs hospital with undisclosed injuries.

No names have been released.

The crash remains under investigation.
