Members of the 10th Medical Group from the Air Force Academy Hospital are back home after serving Operatino Iraqi Freedom. They stepped from a plane Friday morning into a crowd of people who were thrilled to see them.
The members of the group arrived this morning at Colorado Springs Airport. The group, many who quickly walked past the crowd, were some of the 43 members of the Tenth Medical Group arriving Friday on several commercial flights.
Many of those who greeted the group were members of the military. The group worked in a mobile hospital during the war in Iraq. About 50 other members of the unit remain in the Middle East. The unit left on February 20th and operated a 25-bed hospital in Iraq.
The Tenth Medical Group provides medical services at the Air Force Academy, Peterson and Schriever Air Force bases, and Cheyenne Mountain Air Station.
