Colorado Strategy for Homeland Security

Nearly 20 months since the September eleven terror attacks, Colorado officials say no central agency exists to analyze the terrorist threat and coordinate a response.

That's according to the long awaited report titled "Colorado Strategy for Homeland Security.''

It also says Colorado's tight budget will require the state to rely on existing agencies to address homeland security needs.

The 38-page report says law enforcement agencies are generating an overwhelming amount of information. But the report says state and local agencies do not have the useful information to remain fully capable of managing potential threats.

An agency to analyze and distribute information is planned, though it is unclear when the center will be established.
