Springs Police released a sketch of an intruder. The man was last seen in the backyard of Alice Meyer’s home.
Meyer and her teenage daughters heard the dog barking at 10 o'clock at night two weeks ago. They thought it might be a bear outside. "My daughter saw something white. She thought it was her cat on the ledge of the balcony on the second floor. So she leaned over to pick it up. What she thought was the cat turned out to be the guy's white t-shirt," Meyer told 11 News.
The intruder had scaled a 10-foot wall to get to the top. "Her face was not far from his face." Meyer's daughter got a good look at the crook before he ran away.
"We can't say what he intended to do," said Springs Police Sgt. Dale Fox. Cops are investigating if the man in the sketch is the same intruder wanted for trying to break into several homes in the Rockrimmon and Holland Park neighborhoods during last spring. The M.O. seems to be the same.
“One of the similarities is that this person likes to climb up on deck to access windows. People need to be aware that windows on the second level can be reached," Fox said.
The intruder is described as a white male about 6-feet tall and muscular. He has hazel or brown eyes with bushy eyebrows. Police said the man may be a smoker.
