Hundreds gathered in Acacia Park Sunday afternoon to meet the many needs of the homeless in Colorado Springs.
Organized by the Colorado Springs Christian Church, the homeless community was given many of the things they will need to make it through Colorado's harsh winters: clothes, backpacks, sleeping bags and non-perishable foods.
The event is held annually in Colorado Springs, but organizers with the Colorado Springs Christian Church hope to eventually make it a bi-annual event.
Most of the goods given away were donated by city churches.
