A man killed Sunday by lightning from a summer storm is being identified as a 39-year-old resident of Denver.
Adams County Sheriff's Sergeant Louis Dixon says Javier Perez-Cortez died while walking to his vehicle in a parking lot at Mile High Flea Market. He was transported to North Suburban Medical Center in Thornton, where he was pronounced dead.
Coroner's officials confirmed the cause of death as electrocution by lighting. The National Weather Service in Boulder says the storm was in its early stages when the lightning hit.
