A malfunctioning valve at a water treatment plant in Fountain is fixed -- and water restrictions caused by the problem soon will be over.
Fountain banned lawn watering on Sunday after the malfunction at the Fountain Valley Authority water treatment plant cut off 60 percent of its water supply.
Water was to be used only for drinking, cooking and bathing.
The valve was repaired by early yesterday morning, and by yesterday afternoon, storage tanks were about 80 percent full.
The water restrictions ends today at six am.
Fountain utility director Larry Patterson had said wells that provide the other 40 percent of the town's water were enough for domestic use, but officials wanted to make sure there was enough water for firefighters.
