A 26-year-old man tubing with friends on Boulder Creek apparently drowned yesterday after hitting rough water.
Boulder County sheriff's Sergeant Dan Barber says the group lost a couple of tubes in the rough patch and realized one friend was missing.
Witnesses pulled the victim from the water and attempted CPR.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities say he suffered significant injuries.
The victim's name hasn't been released, so his family could be notified first.
Barker Reservoir began spilling into the creek on Saturday after reaching capacity. Sheriff's Commander Phil West says the river was flowing at about 314 cubic feet per second a few hours after the accident.
