A three-hour-long standoff ended peacefully in Wetmore in Custer County Thursday.

The Custer County Sheriff's Office says a man with a weapon was threatening to hurt himself and others. It forced Highway 96 to close while deputies were trying to get the man to surrender. His name has not been released.

Deputies took the man to the hospital for an evaluation. They say he will likely face charges, but it's unclear what those might be.
