3 Employees Injured By Inmate In Prison Assault

Three staff members have been hospitalized after they were attacked by an inmate at the Supermax prison in Florence Wednesday morning.

The inmate reportedly attacked the prison employees using a homemade weapon, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons. All three suffered non-life threatening injuries. The attack happened at 7 a.m.

The Supermax is home to some of the country's most notorious and dangerous inmates, including Terry Nichols who was convicted in the Oklahoma City bombing and Theodore Kavzynski, known as the Unabomber.

The FBI is now investigating the incident.
