Three people were charged with trespassing after they were allegedly caught in a condemned building Monday night.
Police say officers were called to a home on the 1000 block of Ranier Drive shortly before 9 p.m. after a neighbor reported seeing a man climbing into the home through window, and then seeing flashlight beams.
When officers got to the home, they determined that the home was condemned and therefore no one was allowed in. Police set up containment and yelled for the people inside to come out. Police say two people walked out, and were immediately charged with trespassing.
Officers say they later found a third person hiding in the garage. He was charged with trespassing and failure to exit.
The Colorado Springs Fire Department also responded after police noticed that the house was filled with smoke. Police say the smoke was from several smoldering fire pits that were put up in the house.
Police identified the three in the home as Daniel Garcia, Yvonne Vigil and James Fahey.
