Three people face burglary and conspiracy charges after breaking into a home and assaulting the people inside.

Police say suspects Justice Carter, Breeann Montoya and Shane Montoya knew the victim, and assault, not theft, was the motive behind the home invasion.

Officers were called to the 1500 block of Sanderson Avenue, just north of Palmer Park Boulevard and east of Murray in Colorado Springs, just before 1 a.m. Friday on reports of a fight that had broken out after several people forced their way into a home. The suspects left before police arrived, but were soon found a block away from the home.

Carter, Breeann Montoya and Shane Montoya all face first-degree burglary and conspiracy charges. Police have not indicated if there any other suspects.
