Task Force Expands

Updated: Sat 7:31 PM, Apr 19, 2003

The Internet task force is expected to add six new investigators, likely next month.

The task force, formed four years ago, is headed by the Colorado Springs Police Department. In that time, its agents have made 66 arrests.

Task force member Rick Hunt says at least one child a day in Colorado Springs gets a sexual solicitation from an online predator. He says he hopes adding more investigators will send a message to sexual predators that seeking children in Colorado is not a good idea.

The task force's operations are funded by a $350,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Justice's Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention.
