The sixth day of the sixth month of the sixth year is 6/6/06. Evil has often times been associated with the number 666. Colorado Springs residents have mixed emotions. Some people say it's the sign of the devil and others say it's just a number.
It all started from Revelation 13:18 in the Bible when the number of the beast or anti-Christ is revealed as 666. "We don't know why. 7 is the number of God, which is perfection, and 6 is the number of man. 6 tripled is the number of evil, I guess," said Jerry Jenkins, one of the authors of the “Left Behind” series, novels based on the Apocalypse. He says 6/6/06 is not something to be worry about. "666 isn't associated with a date; it’s only associated with the anti-Christ."
Superstitious or not, the post office says there are only 2 addresses in all Colorado Springs that are 666. Jane Sterrett lives in one of those homes. "We are a Catholic family and don't believe in superstitions."
So, whether or not you believe in all the fuss over this devilish number, many still believe June 6, 2006 is just as bad as Friday the 13th.
A re-make of the movie, “The Omen” opened in theaters. To counter that, a prequel to the "Left Behind" series called “The Rapture” is also released.
