Students at Indiana's Taylor University are grieving for a friend they thought was alive -- but turns out to have died in an interstate crash.
Yet they're happy that a friend they thought was dead is really alive.
Eighteen-year-old Whitney Cerak survived in a coma, but she was misidentified as 22-year-old Laura VanRyn, who died in the crash.
The mistake was made public yesterday. It stunned the families of the two women.
The coroner is apologizing for the mix-up.
The women looked alike, with blonde hair and similar builds and facial features.
A friend of both of the women says she hopes the Ceraks' relief will help wash away some of her own sadness.
