New AFA Leader Arrive

Two men and two women will start arriving this week to take over top leadership roles at the Air Force Academy here in Colorado Springs. They will replace four leaders who were reassigned following criticism over how the academy has handled reports of sex assaults.

But, female active duty and retired commanders say not to expect the new female leaders to be any more empathetic to the problems of women in uniform than then are for those of men. They say the problems at the Air Force go beyond gender. In fact, one of the top leaders who was reassigned was a woman.
