Decades after being tortured in a Vietnamese prison, a former Prisoner of War shares his story with 11 News on National POW/MIA Recognition Day.
Captain Mike McGrath spent nearly 6 years as a POW, part of that time in the notorious Hanoi Hilton, after his Navy fighter was shot down.
McGrath says he was tortured for two weeks straight and only after 3 years was he allowed to send a postcard home to let his wife know he was still alive.
"I don't forgive them for hurting me. But I don't have any bad feelings for people in the country. I've been back to visit," said Captain McGrath.
Captain McGrath was reunited with his family in 1973 and retired from the Navy 14 years later. He now lives in Monument, CO with his wife.
