The Pueblo County Commissioners race is getting heated, as Republican nominee Debbie Rose held a press conference Friday regarding her opponent's "Corporate Slush Fund."

Rose claims her opponent, John Cordova, Sr., is violating the Campaign Finance Act by accepting large campaign contributions.

Rose announced that she has requested an investigation into Cordova's campaign finances.

"I call on Mr. Cordova to do the right thing-dissolve his corporate slush fund-return those corporate illegal donations and come into compliance with both the letter as well as the spirit of the Colorado Constitution. In the meantime, I will pursue my action with the Colorado Secretary of State," says Rose.

County Commissioner John Cordova responds by saying he welcomes an investigation.

"I am running a positive campaign and we now have seen the thorny side of Debbie Rose. This is merely a Republican smear campaign right out of the Karl Rove playbook," says Cordova.
