The success of one Pueblo charter school has caught the attention of hollywood, and now the story of Cesar Chavez Academy might be headed to the big screen.
The school has been in an ongoing battle with District 60 over such things as test scores and funding. Despite all of the obstacles, the Academy continues to climb to the top of the state and national academic charts.
Several national academic publications have chronicled the events of Cesar Chavez Academy and now several Hollywood screenwriters are bidding for the chance to tell the story.
Dr. Lawrence Hernandez, the schools Founder and Principal met with movie executives in Hollywood two weeks ago and says it will probably be two years before we the picture on the big screen.
