Police are continuing to search for a possible kidnapping suspect after they received reports from a woman who was allegedly abducted in Taos, New Mexico and escaped her kidnapper in Colorado Springs.

Authorities say the man is considered armed and dangerous suspect.

The El Paso County Sheriff's Office says they have exhausted the search area in Gleneagle. They had a couple leads that turned up nothing. Lt. Sevene says they have removed all K9 units and some resources but the search remains active.

The 27-year-old Valerie Esquibel tells authorities when she went to her car at 2:30 p.m. Thursday a man was sitting in the back seat. He forced her to drive north on I-25, where they eventually ended up in Colorado Springs.

Around 7:45 p.m. Thursday night the woman's car broke down along I-25 near the Gleneagle exit. Esquibel took off on foot. The suspect chased after her, but tripped and fell and she was able to get away. She ran to the Mining Museum and found help.

Police believe this man may also be involved in a possible home invasion in the 12000 block of Woodmont Drive Thursday night. Police say they received a report of a burglary at 7:50 a.m. The arriving officers found the victim inside her home. She had been assaulted by the suspect and needed medical attention.

Police say the suspect entered the house through an unlocked door. He then assaulted the victim and demanded money and jewelry and then fled on foot.

"It made us nervous. We went downstairs and looked at windows. Double check everything out," said a neighbor.

Authorities also searched an area near the Gleneagle Golf Course after receiving al report of a sighting.

"We had reports from citizens. Several sightings matching the description," said Sgt. Scott Schwall with the Colorado Springs Police Department.

Police are searching for an Native American man. He's described as 6ft. tall, black spiky hair. He was last seen wearing brown camouflage pants, a short-sleeved black shirt over a long-sleeved white shirt. He is armed and dangerous, possibly carrying a black revolver.

Residents in the area are warned to stay on alert. Be aware of anyone suspicious in your neighborhood, and don't answer your door to a stranger.

If you see anything out of the ordinary call authorities immediately.
