Buried treasure of a different sort in Weld County.
Sheriff's deputies digging in the southeast corner of the county yesterday found a Chevrolet Corvette, a Mercury Mountaineer and a power generator buried in the dirt.
The items worth up to $20,000 apparently were stolen from the Denver area.
Deputies received an anonymous tip late last week leading to the goods.
The cars had been stripped, then the frames buried.
Deputy Josh Noonan says the generator apparently was hidden to be recovered later.
An auto theft investigator will be in the area today with a metal detector to see if other items are buried.
The owner of the property who lives more than a mile away is cooperating with authorities and isn't considered a suspect.
