The latest violence in Iraq has targeted U.S. and coalition soldiers.
Militants fired more than 30 mortar rounds at a British military camp in southern Iraq today, wounding four soldiers.
Over the past nine days six British soldiers have been killed in Iraq.
In a separate incident, two Marines were killed in fighting between rebels and U.S. forces in western Iraq.
Two U.S. soldiers also died yesterday in a roadside bomb attack in Baghdad.
Also insurgents have shot down a U.S. helicopter south of Baghdad, killing two more Americans.
Elsewhere, eight Iraqis were killed, including four teachers on their way to school and a civilian struck by a roadside bomb that hit an oil tanker.
