Palin did not leave the country until June 2007! She has had a passport for 15 months! And shes going to be the back up to a 72 year old guy that had face cancer 4 times.

Kevin, Obamamania is beyond politics and reason. It is a true religious cult, whose adherents reject Christianity yet still believe in Original Sin, transferring it from the evil of being human to the evil of being white. Thus Obama has become the white liberals' Christ, offering absolution from the Sin of Being White. There is no reason or logic behind it, no faults or flaws of his can diminish it, no arguments Hillary could make of any kind can be effective against it. The absurdity of Hypocrisy Clothed In Human Flesh being their Savior is all the more cause for liberals to worship him: Credo quia absurdum, I believe it because it is absurd. Thank heavens that the voting majority of Americans remain Christian and are in no desperate need of a phony savior. His candidacy is ridiculous and should not be taken seriously by any thinking American.

I have to say this. I am tired of the Republicans and their supporters playing the "Patriotism" card. I am pretty sure any Democrat can be as patriotic as an Republican. To say that someone is anti-American for being a Democrat or whatever is just garbage. Last time I checked, the First Amendment states that we have the freedom to say WHATEVER we want. We are very lucky to have this freedom here in the US, and a lot of countries don't have that. To say that someone is being Anti-USA is in fact being unpatriotic! We can praise or bash the government or the President or each others parties all we want. That's what makes America special; We can agree or disagree on anything. I am voting for Obama for the fact that he is DIFFERENT. The Republicans and Democrats have all said the same thing over the last 8 years, and done nothing. I believe Obama is different, and that is why I am voting for him. It's not because I'm Anti-American or a left wing nut, its because I want something different.

My parents, who are very religious (attend church weekdays, volunteer their time in the Mexico prisons, support Whispering Winds, support the Jewish foundation [even though they are not Jewish], etc) read Obama's first book as part of a book club and told me that they were quite impressed. They even told me they would strongly consider voting for him. I guess they are part of that rare breed of Christians - they have an open mind, their hearts are not hardened and they actually act the part of a Christian. Now I wonder what all the radical right folks will say about them...

Women have fought to get into the workforce for many, many years. Women have fought to have equal rights as men. When this happens people have a need to critize and belittle. Nothing is ever said when a man is absent from the home to provide a income and pursue a career. Instead of being negative try to give her the credit she deserves. She has worked hard to get where she is. She is a compassionate, educated, responsible individual.

Jason, your comments concern me, especially "crash a few Navy jets". IF you don't know the differences, here they are; Obama: leftist, Marxist radical, (read his books and see who his, and Michelle's heroes are) pro-taxes, anti-military, anti-2nd Amendment, pro-abortion, will appoint leftist judges, hides facts related to his past, and seems to NOT feel proud to be an American (I know, I know, he's wearing his flag pin again, ha, ha!) Mac: war hero, anti-tax, super patriot, anti-abortion, pro-military, pro-2nd Amendment (not as strongly as I'd like!), sincere, and will appoint judges who strictly abide by our Constitution. I guess since you consider yourself more liberal and Mac/Sarah do not have your values (actually, it's really the other way around), why would you even consider voting for Mac/Sarah...just vote for the dems and be done with it!! By the way, I'm kinda confused by your FOTF comments. I'm almost sensing an anti-Christian, anti-FOTF, attitude. Could I be right??

Hmm... I'm not for sure that a conservative choice is the best way to go for the next 4 to 8 years within our community. Granted, I am registered Republican, and I do consider myself as more liberal rather than conservative, but I can’t help feel that McCain/Palin does not embody the same values as my self. By the sounds of things, it appears that McCain is a true Republican, in that he wants to limit government, which might not be the best thing for the military families in our town. Heck, even my family member will be affected by a reduction in military personnel, to a certain extent. Granted, Obama might not invest in a stronger American military presence either, but I can’t help but feel that there should be a better choice. -Focus on the Family (FOTF) isn't the only thing Colorado Springs has going for it. If it weren’t for the 'clean industry' initiative for the Springs during the 80s and 90s, FOTF wouldn't even be around. Now, if you don’t mind, I’m off to crash a few Navy jets.

Liv, Not sure where you got your definition of ignorant. My understanding of the word is that it is a lack of knowledge and/or understanding. You have the right to disagree with her and what she stands for but just because you do not agree with Palin's values and morals does not give you the right to call her ignorant. It only shows your own ignorance (lack of understanding).

I have to confirm the protestors were few, nothing worth reporting. Yes, where was the view of the 10,000 or so people waiting and standing in the sun to support and see their choice. Afraid to show the mass of supporters? Enough of the stage performance - talk to the people in the crowd.

Liv, I think you made your point now give it up! Obviously you don't mind paying higher tax's and you support abortion than Obamie is your man. I am a grandmother of 10 one who is still in the mother's womb. If I had not raised my children that abortion (murder in the eyes of God) was wrong I probably would not be the happy grandmother of 10 beautiful and precious grandchildren. My heart tells me to vote for the man who has my values and morals and that is John McCain and Sarah Palin. I want you to know Viv, that I was a volunteer at the rally and and happen to be right in front of the podium about 7 feet from our next president and his VP what a honor! I Iove my country and I am proud of being an american Hispanic women, Jesus follower, mother of 3 and grandmother of many more to come.
