A tank accident has claimed the lives of four U.S. Marines in Iraq.
American military officials say the troops died when their tank rolled off a bridge into a canal.
Officials said the deaths were not the result of enemy action.
The accident happened Thursday in Anbar Province, where many of Iraq's Sunni-led insurgent groups are based.
According to an Associated Press count, their deaths raise to at least 2,434 the number of members of the U.S. military who have died since the beginning of the Iraq war in March 2003.
