United Airlines Cancels Flights

By: Associated Press

United Airlines has canceled a week of flights from Aspen to San Francisco because business has declined after the start of war with Iraq.

Although United had planned to run its seasonal daily non-stop flight to San Francisco until April 6, that flight will be discontinued after March 31.

The airline has also canceled two of its non-stop flights to Los Angeles and 12 of its regularly scheduled flights to Denver next week.

Bill Tomcich, president of an Aspen reservation agency, said the cuts were done both because of a seasonal decline in business and a drop in traffic because of the war.
