The eyes of the nation were on Senator John McCain's pick for vice president Wednesday night.
Governor Sarah Palin's first speech on the republican ticket reached republican and democratic voters alike.
State Senator John Morse (D) Colorado Springs, sat down in KKTV’s studios to watch Palin’s address.
Fresh from spending most of last week in Denver for the Democratic National Convention, Senator Morse gave Palin high marks for composure and making a few memorable remarks.
He criticized Palin, however, for going after Democratic hopeful Senator Barack Obama's level of experience.
"Even as a candidate for the president of the United States, he's still a community organizer, and he's still getting people at the level of the street involved now in a campaign for the highest office in the land,” Morse said.
“And I think it scares the (daylights) quite frankly out of people like Sarah Palin because as [Obama] registers more and more voters, those voters aren't going to vote Republican. They live on the streets day to day and understand it's the failed policies of the Bush administration the last 8 years that she and Senator McCain want to continue, that have got us where we are."
Looking to the next eight weeks, Morse believes starting with McCain and Palin's appearance in Colorado Springs Saturday, both sides of the race for the White House will spend more time in Colorado, which many believe will be a battle ground state this November.
