El Paso County authorities are investigating a shooting in the Cimarron Hills neighborhood in Eastern Colorado Springs.

The sheriff's office says it received reports of gun shots early Tuesday morning on Chricahua Loop, east of Powers Boulevard.

Authorities say they found 24 year old Joseph Lowe with a least one gunshot wound, who they rushed to Memorial hospital. Deputies say Lowe is in critical condition.

Springs police helped the sheriff's office search for two possible suspects through the night. As of early Tuesday morning they have made one arrests. The arrest happened on the 4000 block of Moonbeam drive in the southern part of the city.

I'm extremely greatful that you all caught the person who committed this crime. The victim is actually someone I know. So I was extremely worried, for I did not hear about this until two days later. So thank you news team for your dedication to covering what happened in the area I and Joe live in.

Thank you for actually calling it Cimarron Hills and NOT "East of Colorado Springs"! It does not seem like it would matter much, but to those who live/work in that area, it does. Thanks again!
