One man is in custody, but in unknown condition, after an officer-involved shooting in Adams County.

Commerce City police say they tried to pull obvver a man in a pickup about one a.m. after seeing him hauling away a front-end loader.

Officers were suspicious due to recent thefts at construction sites.

The driver allegedly refused to stop, though, prompting a chase.

Authorities put out stop sticks, but say the driver avoided them -- and tried to run down an officer.

Police then fired at the suspect, who wrapped the pickup around a tree at Barr Lake Campground.

No officers were hurt.

The suspect's name, age and hometown have NOT been released.

Portions of Interstate 76 had been closed during the investigation, but have since reopened.
