Colorado Springs Police say a white male refused to stop when officers tried to pull him over.

Springs police say the chase started at I-25 and Garden Of The Gods. Police chased after the car until the driver abandoned it in a field near Centennial and Fillmore.

The driver disappeared. The vehicle was towed and authorities are no longer looking for the suspect.

I think it was a green cherokee. It ran a red light off I-25/GOG, hit the car in front of me, bounced back and continue going east on GOG. It's too bad the police didn't catch him. I feel bad for the guy in front of me.

I have to agree with Scott. However, CSPD, isnt the ONLY dept. that has worthless officers!!

It amazes me how every time I read the comments the residents of Springs has something to say about the cops it's negative. You complain about them taking radar, chasing someone, not chasing someone.. It amazes me. I hope that when the time comes and you have to call the cops for help I hope they give you more respect then you give them!

This is sad, I saw the thing happen 20 yds from me and they let him get away in a old red jeep cherokee. I'm glad i am not relying on cspd to protect me.

Why is this even a news story? The police were bored , chased a car , driver went into a field escaped the police and now the CSPD gives up. Good grief is right! They need a leader with a back bone and until they get one they (CSPD) will remain a joke in this town.

Good grief...the police won't learn that they shouldn't chase people with dangerous, speeding, heavy metal objects until they kill an innocent child in the process.

Oh my god CSPD couldn't find their way out of a wet paper sack with a map. I guess when you make between 40 and 60k a year it doesn't really matter if you catch criminals or not.....What a joke this department is...
