Police estimate about 4,000 people packed into Memorial Park on Monday to rally for immigration rights. It lasted from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The group American Dream or Sueno Americano organized the event. They are asking for legalization for the millions of undocumented immigrants already living in the USA. They are also working for a guest worker program and opposition to a plan to build a border fence built between America and Mexico.
A handful of counter-protesters stood across Hancock from Memorial Park, holding signs against amnesty for illegal immigrants.
Police report no arrests or incidents during the rally.
