Crystie Hardy and Mark Alton Friend were in a preliminary hearing Tuesday in the death of Madyson Bogard.

The court heard testimony from the El Paso County Coroner, Dr. Bux, about Madyson and about what killed her. The court also heard testimony from a couple of the Colorado Springs Officers that responded to the scene.

A police affidavit released back in January described multiple bruises on Madyson and it included reports of Madyson being hit repeatedly in the head, held underwater and sexually abused.

Dr. Bux testified to the fact that Madyson died from lack of oxygen to her brain that was caused by a seizure. He also stated that he believes the seizure was brought on by taking blows to the head and that Madyson had a fractured skull and multiple bruises all over her body.

He did also say, however, that he saw no evidence of the little girl drowning and no evidence of sexual abuse.

Both Madyson's mother and her mother's boyfriend are facing 1st degree murder and child abuse charges.

Police says that both Hardy and Friend have reported different stories. One of them being her injuries came from the little girl slipping on the ice.

I CAN'T THINK OF WHICH ANIMAL I COULD COMPARE THEM TO WITHOUT INSULTING THE ANIMAL!

Great posts by all! I remember when this was first reported; made me furious then, makes me more furious now! These two sick SOB's need to request solitary confinement once they get to prison; the other inmates will exact revenge for the terrible way they treated this "Little Angel". To think or imagine that a parent would allow this abuse to occur, and continue, is unheard of. No punishment will fit this crime; I only hope and pray that Madyson is in the loving arms of Our Lord knowing what real love and affection truly is. Any public defender, judge, or district attorney that has the nerve to not aggressively try these two sicko's and seek the death penalty needs to be dis-barred and thrown in jail for breaching the public trust! No plea agreements, no bargaining, no mercy; my jury just came back with a finding of:GUILTY IN THE 1ST DEGREE!

I think the justice system will never do that little girl true justice. Some way or another they will find a loop hole they always do. It makes me sick! I have two kids of my own and could never imagine hurting them like that. Her mother is sick and the boyfriend even sicker. They need to be sexually assaulted, hit in the head, drown, everything that baby had to suffer they need to feel. We tax payers should all get one good shot at both of them. Since we are paying for them to sit in jail. I think there would be more justice for that baby if they allowed all the parents in prison who love their kids to get those two in a cell alone. They would no longer have to worry about sitting in a cell and we wouldn't have to pay for it. I work in the medical field and seeing a child injured makes me sick enough when a child passes of a disease or illness but at the hands of her own parents. That is unreal. Justice will never be served until those two are dead. Karma! What goes around comes back!

I remember when this baby girl died, it made me sick to my stomach..I've thought about it dozens of times..I remember reading that methamphetamines were involved, that the child was 'difficult'. What child wouldn't be bouncing off the walls if they had to breathe that stuff into their little lungs and live with it on the walls, furniture, etc. I pray, for that little girls sake, that those two disgusting excuses for human beings spend a long, long time looking out from behind bars. Thinking of the verbal and physical pain they inflicted on Madyson. and mom just stood by and let the boyfriend throw that child around like a rag doll. God bless little Madyson and her little life that was cut so short. I wish every parent in prison could take a shot at those two, for what they've done.

This poor little girls mother should be locked in a tiny cell wallpapered with her daughter's picture for the rest of her life. A nice touch would be to pipe in the girl saying "Hi Mommy", if they happen to have that. What mother could allow those things to happen to her own child! Evil!

These two people will pay for what they've done one way or another and it doesn't matter what the judicial system decides.
