A high school choir teacher, absent from class for the last 6 months, is finally back at school. Bob Crowder returned to work Monday, even though he's still recovering from a hit and run accident nearly 6 months ago.
The driver who hit crowder hasn't been caught. "We haven't solved the case. With any crime, we’re confident someone out there knows about this hit and run accident," said Sgt. Creighton Brandt with the Colorado Springs Police Department.
Crowder walked into a room of cheers at Palmer High School. He talked to his students about his multiple broken bones and his ongoing recovery. He said the kids are the reason he’s back so soon. "I can show kids something. I can show them how to go for their dreams and they can come true."
With his arm still in a sling, Crowder said he wanted to be here on the first day of school to show his students to never give up. That is, perhaps, one of the best lessons Crowder will ever teach.
Sprins Police said the suspect they're looking for was possibly driving a blue sedan. He was described as a well dressed man, wearing a tie and suit jacket at the time, probably heading home from work.
