A FLASH FLOOD WATCH will go into effect at NOON and last through MIDNIGHT from most of Southern Colorado. Scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms will be more than capable of producing very heavy rain once again. Burn scars and areas that saw heavy rain yesterday will be under the greatest risk for flash flooding. The 11 Breaking Weather Team will be tracking this threat all day for you.
A pair of NASA satellites are on their way to work.
They blasted off early today from Vandenberg Air Force Base in central California for a look at both sides of the ice cream castles in the air.
The satellites CloudSat and Calipso carry advanced instruments that can view clouds in 3-D.
Scientists hope the enhanced view will help them understand how clouds and airborne particles known as aerosols influence weather and climate changes and affect air quality.
