Cold, Wet Weather Spurs Flood Warnings On Colo. Plains, Snow In Mountains
Heavy rains have prompted flood watches and warnings along the Front Range and on the eastern plains Saturday, while snow temporarily closed Loveland Pass in the mountains west of Denver.

Heavy rains have prompted flood watches and warnings along the Front Range and on the eastern plains Saturday, while snow temporarily closed Loveland Pass in the mountains west of Denver.

The National Weather Service says a slow-moving, low-pressure system that moved into northwestern Colorado is bringing storms to the state.

The weather service has issued a flood warning for the Arkansas River in La Junta and the Purgatoire River near Las Animas in southeastern Colorado.

In the mountains, the Colorado Department of Transportation closed Loveland Pass for a couple of hours because this morning of snow and ice.

Chilly temperatures are expected to last through the weekend, with highs reaching only the 50s and 60s in the Denver metro area.

the rain flooded streets all over las animas cops had roads blocked because the streets were flooded
