Churches Pray for Peace

Spiritual leaders are reminding worshippers cross the state to pray for world peace as the U.S. led war in Iraq continues. Sermons were filled with themes of reconciliation and hope for peace, especially in the Middle East.

Many Christians are observing Lent, the 40 days before Easter. About 200 people gathered at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in downtown Denver. They listened to Bible readings and solemnly took Communion during an early morning mass.

Rabbis said many Jews were worried about what will happen to Israel as a result of the war. Some leaders chose not to address the war specifically.
