Colorado 133 remains closed near the Paonia Reservoir Dam this morning after a rockslide dumped an estimated one thousand tons of rock, mud and debris across the road.
Colorado Department of Transportation spokeswoman Stacey Stegman says no cars were damaged and no injuries were reported as the slide yesterday covered both lanes of the highway between Paonia and McClure Pass.
She says the remoteness of the slide forced the closure as road crews headed to the site with equipment to remove boulders too large for earth movers on the scene.
Stegman says the mountainside was wet and had been the site of a slide five years ago.
