Mental heath workers in Larimer County say they've seen a 20% jump in the number of people seeking psychological help because of apprehension about the war and the economy. But, the director of the Larimer Center for Mental Health says the state's tight budget is making it rough to meet the growing demand for service.
The center, like other agencies, is facing cutbacks in state funding because of declining state revenue. Director Randy Ratliff says people are seeking help at the center because of stress related to concerns about the war in Iraq and their own economic problems.
Counselors recommend that people discuss their feelings with others, follow their normal routines, exercise, eat a healthy diet and don't forget to have fun.
