America has more millionaires.
A survey says there were a record eight-point-three million U.S. households with a net worth of a million dollars or more in 2005.
That's up 800,000 from 2004, and the net worth numbers don't include primary residences.
The survey also found that the number of households with a net worth of five million dollars or more rose to 930,000 in 2005.
The report, "Affluent Market Insights 2006," was released by the Spectrem Group, a Chicago-based consulting firm specializing in affluent and retirement markets.
Spectrem's managing director says solid improvement in the stock market was clearly one reason for the higher net worth numbers.
