Speeding Car Crashes Into Front Yards
Some residents in a Colorado Springs neighborhood are begging drivers to slow down on their street. On Eastmeadows Drive near Highway 115 neighbors say they’re concerned for their safety.

I love people who say "Get over it". Easily said until "it" kills someone they love.

A lot of the street racers use side streets thinking that police officers will not be there. I live on the east side and people are always speeding down my street. We live in a neighborhood full of children. I watch my daughter very close and she is never even on the sidewalk without me near her but in this situation we could have been in our front yard and been hit. People need to learn to slow down. If they want to race go to Pueblo where they have a drag strip for you to race.

I work off of North Gate Blvd. and the speed limit was raised from 35 to 40 this past year. If you try to go 40 everybody acts like your are doing something wrong. There are a lot of new homes in this area with little children, I just wonder how they feel about this?

Get over it. This happens all of the time, in most area's of town. If a year goes by and I don't have someone in my boulevard or backyard, I'm surprised.

It's Eastmeadow, not Eastmeadows

Do (or ask the city to do) like the people on Constitution: place large boulders in the curb parking. That usually slows them down!

The City of Colorado Springs will only install speed bumps if you live in areas like the broadmoor and rockrimmon. This town(city) is purely driven by developers and those with the highest property taxes. Unfortunately, this neighborhood is on the wrong side of Highway 115...

Sounds like a lot of streets around the Springs...I live on Montebello Dr W and people drive constantly 10 over the speed limit even during school hours...only time they slow down is when a cop is parked in the parking lot giving out tickets left and right...
