Care And Share In Desperate Need
The economy slump has come at a bad time for the Colorado Springs Care and Share food bank. They need more donations but they are also trying to raise a million dollars by the end of the year.

We care here at Lelaray Apts! We are currently taking donations for Care and Share from our tenants. We plan to purchase the nonperishable foods and take them to Care and Share by the 11th of November,2008. I am, as the manager of these apartments, challenging other apartment complexes to do the same. Together we CAN make a DIFFERENCE!! Please get involved so no family here in the Springs will be hungry this Holiday Season! We have so many Apartment complexes here, just think if they all participated! It would be a tremendous amount of food and donations. HELP!! YOU WILL BE GLAD YOU DID!!

Every Saturday We accept Yard Waste from Residential Customers in Exchange for Canned Goods that we collect and give to Care & Share which is a local food bank. We accept branches, grass clippings, leaves, and other vegatation for canned goods. We do this every Saturday and with Fire Danger at an all time high, it benefits you the residential customer to clear out dead debris that could be a fire hazard. We are open from 8-4pm every Saturday and if you have questions or need directions you can call us at 579-9103, check us out online at www.rockytop.us, or send us an email at mike.martin@rockytop.us We can accept debris during the week but then our normal charges will apply on materials being dropped.

Unfortunately, with the economy the way it is, their problems will only get worse. So many American's are having many difficulties because of the rising cost of fuel, food, electricity, etc. All of our money has to go to ourselves and our families which leaves us unable to help out organizations such as Care and Share. Something has got to be done about this.

I know there are a lot of people on foodstamps that use the Care and Share food banks often, but I am wondering who else benefits from the food banks?
