A man charged in the slaying of a Denver police officer is scheduled to appear in court today.
Denver district attorney's office says Raul Gomez-Garcia is charged with second degree murder and attempted murder.
Gomez-Garcia is suspected of killing Detective Donald Young and wounding officer Jack Bishop while the officers were working off-duty as security officers last year.
Authorities suspect Gomez-Garcia shot the officers after they denied him re-entry to a baptismal party.
Last month, 27 year old Jaime Arana-Del Angel pleaded guilty to being an accessory after the fact.
He was accused of hiding evidence for Gomez-Garcia and helping his friend flee.
Arana-Del Angel faces up to 12 years in prison.
