Symphony Name Change

Today the newly formed Colorado Springs Philharmonic announced plans to replace the now defunct symphony.

The philharmonic will largely consist of former symphony musicians as well as the symphony's conductor. The main difference is there is a new board of directors.

The symphony was at odds with the previous board of directors, leading to an eventual Chapter 7 bankruptcy filing.

Member of the Philharmonic say it will essentially be the same orchestra, only with a clean slate. All the philharmonic is waiting on now is non-profit status.

It's first benefit concerts are set for April 6th and May 1st and 2nd at the Pikes Peak Center.
