A mother in Aiken, South Carolina, accused of leaving her 15 month old son in a car, has been charged with murder by child abuse.
According to sheriffs, 35 year old Karla Edwards left the baby in a car for nine hours Tuesday while she went to work at a home-improvement store.
Sheriffs say when she returned to the car, the child was unresponsive.
Authorities say the baby died from dehydration.
The weather service says Tuesday's high in Aiken was 73.
