Rod Smith Announces Retirement From Broncos
Rod Smith held a press conference on Thursday at Dove Valley to announce that he is retiring from the Denver Broncos.

Rod Smith held a press conference on Thursday at Dove Valley to announce that he is retiring from the Denver Broncos.

The 38-year-old Smith has been on the reserve/retired list since February and has had two hip operations in the last year-and-a-half.

He's the franchise's career leader in every major receiving category.

Smith holds franchise records for career receptions with 849; receiving yards with 11,389; touchdown catches with 68; touchdowns with 71; and 100-yard games with 31.

It will be a long time before we see a player with the personal drive and integrity of a Rod Smith. His exemplary performance both on and off the field is something players should strive to achieve.
